The fifth annual Dynamic Georgina Marathon and Half-Marathon, 10k and 5k running race
takes place on Sunday, September 7 th in Georgina with our biggest race yet!
Starting from De La Salle Park at 7:30 am, more than 2,000 runners will be heading
westbound along Lake Simcoe to test their legs on this fast and flat course. For marathoners looking for their Boston qualifying time, this has become a favourite in the Ontario race scene. “We are thrilled to be celebrating our fifth anniversary of this race,” says co-race director Cindy Lewis-Caballero. “Our first event had just over 600 runners – and now we are selling out at just over 2,000.” The largest group in this race by far is the half-marathon (21.1km) distance, which is also a professionally measured and certified race. Expect to see some fast finishes, as we welcome some elite runners in a strong field competing for their personal best times. “It’s not just about the runners,” adds co-race director Sandie Orlando. “The party in the park will welcome spectators to enjoy live music by Fat Cat Jamboree and the excitement at the finish line as announcer Greg Nicols calls out each finishers name.”
Thanks to five years of continued support from the town of Georgina, Dynamic, Gatorade, The Briars Resort and Spa, KCountry 93.7 and Hits 105FM radio, Apple Self Storage, KT Tape, Mike Cheliak Photography and Global Citizen marketing.
