In 2022 the first Georgina Spring Fling started with three distances (21.1 KM, 10KM & 5KM) with just over 400 runners. It turned out runners liked this early-season event, and the full marathon distance was added the next year. For our fifth anniversary, we expect to send a record number of runners along Lake Drive, enjoying the cool breezes and flat course.

One of the fun features of the race that has become key to its personality over the years is the 'spring fling' leap. Not only do runners compete for time, but the best 'flings' captured on camera tend to be used for marketing, or on t-shirts or medals. Show us your best fling!

We have had the pleasure of watching some of our younger runners challenge others twice their age and win in the 5KM. We've had elite runners come out for their tune-up race and wow us with spectacular times. We've seen new runners take on their first-ever event and finish smiling, ready to step up to the next distance. And we've welcomed run groups who bring their tent and flags and cheer on their run buddies.

The Georgina Spring Fling has a certain vibe that gets people smiling - runners and spectators alike. Whether it's the Georgina Alligator and many parks along the course, the post-run party in the park, or the fresh breezes off the lake, we think it's a perfect place to spend the first weekend in May.
